In the heart of the jungle, under a tall mango tree, lived two young monkeys named Pupu and Poki. They were playful, curious, and loved swinging from branch to branch. Their mom, a wise and loving monkey, always took care of them—bringing them food, keeping them safe, and teaching them about the forest.
One bright morning, their mom sat them down and said, “I have to go visit Grandma Monkey for a few days. While I’m away, you two must be independent and take care of each other.”
Pupu and Poki’s eyes widened. “All by ourselves?” asked Poki.
“Yes,” said their mom gently. “But remember what I’ve taught you. Work together, be careful, and don’t forget to eat fruits and drink plenty of water.”
As soon as their mom left, the jungle suddenly felt bigger. At first, the two monkeys were nervous. But soon, they started remembering all the things their mom had shown them. Pupu gathered ripe bananas while Poki fetched clean water from the stream.
They made their own little nest in the tree and even practiced their safety calls, just in case danger came near. When it rained, they stayed under big banana leaves like umbrellas. When it got dark, they huddled together and told funny stories until they fell asleep.
They had a few close calls—like when Poki tried to grab a fruit from a snake’s tree, but Pupu warned him just in time. They realized being independent wasn’t just about having fun, but about being smart and looking out for each other.
When their mom returned, she was amazed. Their nest was tidy, their bellies full, and their smiles wide.
“We missed you!” they shouted, hugging her tightly.
“I missed you too,” she said, proud. “And I’m so proud of how well you did.”
From that day on, Pupu and Poki knew they could handle anything—as long as they worked together and remembered everything their mom had taught them.
