Pupu Monkey Feels Guilty for Leaving Home on His Own

One bright morning in the heart of the jungle, Pupu Monkey woke up with a restless heart. The trees rustled gently, and the birds chirped sweet melodies, but something inside Pupu longed for more. He dreamed of adventure beyond the tall banana trees and wide rivers. Without telling his family, he slipped away while the others were still asleep.

At first, everything felt exciting. Pupu swung from vine to vine, discovering strange flowers and listening to new animal sounds. He felt proud of himself for being so brave. But as the sun began to dip below the treetops, the forest grew darker and colder. The once-friendly jungle now felt unfamiliar and scary.

Pupu tried to find his way back, but the trees all looked the same. His stomach rumbled, and he missed his mama’s warm hugs and the laughter of his siblings. He thought about how worried they must be. For the first time, he didn’t feel like an adventurer—he felt like a little monkey who had made a big mistake.

“I shouldn’t have left without telling anyone,” Pupu whispered to himself, his voice trembling. Tears filled his eyes. He curled up under a big leaf, feeling guilty and alone.

Luckily, the jungle has a way of guiding lost ones home. Early the next morning, Pupu heard a familiar voice calling his name. It was Papa Monkey, swinging through the trees with a worried look on his face. When he saw Pupu, he scooped him up in a big, warm hug.

“I was so scared,” Pupu cried. “I’m sorry I left without saying anything.”

Papa Monkey smiled gently. “We all make mistakes, little one. What matters is that you’ve learned from it.”

Back home, Pupu’s family welcomed him with open arms. That night, as they snuggled together, Pupu promised himself never to leave on his own again. He had learned that adventure is fun—but family is everything.
