Lala the little duck had been quacking with excitement all week. Ever since the farmer announced that a brand-new swimming pool was being built at the barnyard, she could hardly sit still. Every day, she waddled past the construction area, peeking through the fence and imagining how fun it would be to splash and swim in crystal-clear water.
“Just a few more days,” the farmer said with a chuckle, watching Lala hop up and down. “You’re going to love it!”
When the big day finally came, Lala was the first one awake. The sun had barely risen, but she had already brushed her feathers, flapped her wings, and gathered her towel. She even convinced her best friends, Benny the bunny and Coco the kitten, to come along.
As they reached the sparkling new pool, Lala gasped. It was bigger and brighter than she imagined. The water shimmered under the morning sun, and there were colorful floaties, slides, and even a shallow end for the smaller animals.
“Oh wow! This is AMAZING!” Lala squealed.
Without hesitation, she waddled to the edge, took a deep breath, and jumped right in—splash! The cool water felt wonderful, and she paddled around with joy, making happy ripples and quacking gleefully.
Benny dipped his toes in, giggling at the chill, while Coco cautiously climbed onto a float shaped like a lily pad. “Come on in!” Lala called to them, “It’s the best pool ever!”
Soon, the whole barnyard joined in—chickens paddled in circles, sheep floated lazily, and even the old goat dipped a hoof in. Lala led the fun, swimming laps, sliding down the water chute, and teaching her friends how to float on their backs.
As the sun began to set and everyone dried off with warm towels, Lala sighed happily. “This was the best day ever,” she said, snuggling up with her friends.
And from that day on, the new swimming pool wasn’t just a place to cool off—it became the heart of the barnyard, filled with laughter, friendship, and unforgettable summer days.
