It was a sunny afternoon, and the kitchen was filled with the sweet scent of fresh, ripe plums. Little Lala, the ever-curious and energetic monkey, was buzzing with excitement. Today was a special day—she was finally going to show off her new skill: making homemade plum jam!
Dressed in her tiny apron and chef’s hat, Lala looked like a true professional. Thuy, her caring guardian, had already laid out all the ingredients on the counter—plums, sugar, lemon juice, and a big wooden spoon that Lala loved stirring with. With her sleeves rolled up and eyes sparkling, Lala was ready to begin.
First, she carefully washed the plums in a large bowl, humming a cheerful tune as the water splashed around her. She took her time picking out the softest, juiciest ones and handed them to Thuy to be pitted and sliced. Then came Lala’s favorite part—mashing the plums! With both hands on the masher, she worked with determination, turning the fruit into a thick, colorful pulp.
“Good job, Lala!” Thuy cheered. Lala beamed with pride.
Next, they added the sugar and lemon juice to a pot and poured in the mashed plums. Thuy handled the hot stove while Lala stood nearby, stirring gently with her long spoon and keeping a close eye on the bubbling mixture. The jam simmered slowly, and the whole kitchen filled with the warm, fruity aroma.
After some time, they tested the jam’s thickness. Lala dipped a tiny spoon into the pot, blew on it to cool it down, and gave it a taste. “Mmm!” she exclaimed, giving a big thumbs-up.
Once the jam was ready, Thuy helped Lala pour it into glass jars. Lala even placed the lids on herself and decorated each jar with stickers and hand-drawn labels that said, “Lala’s Plum Jam.”
By the end of the day, Lala was proud and a little sticky from all the jam-making. She held up a jar and smiled wide, showing off her creation. It wasn’t just delicious jam—it was proof that even little hands could do big things.
