One bright Saturday morning, Lala and her best friend Thuy decided to go to the supermarket. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the two girls were excited for their little adventure.
“We need vegetables, fruits, and milk,” Thuy reminded as they walked down the road, carrying their reusable shopping bags.
When they arrived, the supermarket doors slid open with a whoosh. Lala smiled and pointed to the colorful produce section. “Let’s start with vegetables!”
Together, they picked the freshest ones they could find. Lala chose bright orange carrots, green broccoli, and a bag of crispy lettuce. Thuy added red tomatoes, cucumbers, and a bunch of green beans. “These will be great for salad!” Thuy said happily.
Next, they headed to the fruit aisle. It smelled sweet and fresh. They found juicy apples, plump grapes, ripe bananas, and some big, red strawberries. “Let’s get extra strawberries for dessert,” Lala suggested with a grin. Thuy agreed, already imagining a bowl full of fruit at home.
Finally, they walked to the dairy section. It was chilly there, but they didn’t mind. They picked up a carton of fresh milk and even found a small bottle of chocolate milk as a treat. “This is for after lunch,” said Thuy with a wink.
On the way to the checkout, they spotted some reusable bamboo straws. “Let’s get these too!” said Lala. “It’s better for the environment.”
They placed all their items on the conveyor belt, smiling at the cashier. Once everything was packed, they carried their bags back home, chatting excitedly about what they would cook.
“Vegetable soup and fruit salad?” Lala asked.
“Perfect,” said Thuy. “And don’t forget the chocolate milk!”
By the time they got home, they were tired but proud. Shopping had turned into a fun, meaningful day—and now they had everything they needed to make a healthy, delicious meal.
