In the nick of time, a tiny, frail kitten was pulled from the brink of death—and now she’s ready to begin a new chapter in life. Found alone in a cardboard box near a dumpster, the kitten—now named Luna—was barely breathing, weighing just under a pound. Her fur was matted, her eyes sealed shut from infection, and her body cold to the touch.
A passerby heard faint cries and called a nearby animal rescue organization. Volunteers rushed to the scene and brought Luna to their emergency care unit. “She was so small, we weren’t sure she’d make it through the night,” said Emily, one of the shelter workers. “But she fought harder than any kitten I’ve ever seen.”
