Monkey Lyly had always been a happy and playful little monkey. She loved climbing trees, playing with her jungle friends, and snuggling up with her favorite stuffed banana at bedtime. But one night, something unexpected happened—Lyly woke up to find her bed wet. She had accidentally wet the bed.
At first, Lyly was confused. She looked down and her little face turned red with embarrassment. She didn’t understand why it had happened. She hadn’t wet the bed in a long time. She sat there quietly, worried about what her mother would say.
Soon, Mama Monkey came into the room with her usual warm smile. But when she saw the wet sheets, her smile faded into concern. Lyly looked up with teary eyes and whispered, “I didn’t mean to, Mama. I don’t know what happened.”
Mama Monkey sat down next to Lyly and gently hugged her. “Oh, sweetheart,” she said softly, “it’s okay. Sometimes accidents happen, especially when you’re tired or worried about something.” She gave Lyly a warm kiss on the forehead. “You’re not in trouble.”
Lyly sniffled. “But I feel bad…”
“There’s nothing to feel bad about,” Mama replied. “Our bodies sometimes do things we can’t control, and it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with us. It just means we need to be patient and listen to what our bodies are trying to say.”
Mama Monkey helped Lyly change into dry pajamas and brought out fresh sheets. They worked together to tidy up, and soon the bed was clean again.
Before tucking her in, Mama Monkey said, “Let’s try to go potty before bed each night, just to help. And if it happens again, we’ll figure it out together.”
Lyly nodded and felt a little better. With her mom’s gentle words and kind heart, she drifted off to sleep feeling safe and loved.
Sometimes, little monkeys have accidents—but with understanding and love, everything feels a little easier.
