Monkey Lyly Tries Every Way to Keep Her Mother from Waking Up Because of the Noise from Outside

Deep in the heart of the jungle, Monkey Lyly tiptoed across the leafy floor of their treehouse. Her mother, Mama Luma, had just fallen asleep after a long, tiring morning of gathering fruit and chasing away mischievous parrots. Lyly knew how much her mother needed rest, but the jungle had other plans.

Outside, the birds were squawking louder than ever, and a group of young monkeys were playing tag through the branches, sending leaves and twigs flying. Even the wind was in a playful mood, rattling vines and howling through the trees.

Lyly frowned. “I have to keep Mama asleep,” she whispered to herself.

First, she climbed to the top of their tree and gently asked the young monkeys to quiet down. “My mama is sleeping,” she said sweetly. They agreed and began playing farther away. That helped a little, but the parrots were still causing a racket.

Next, Lyly gathered some juicy berries and tossed them toward the parrots to distract them. It worked—for a moment. But soon they came back, chirping even louder than before.

Not giving up, Lyly rushed around their home, padding the windows with big banana leaves to muffle the noise. She even sang a soft lullaby near her mother’s ear to drown out the sounds from outside. Still, every creak and rustle made Lyly hold her breath, hoping it wouldn’t wake Mama.

Just when she thought she’d tried everything, she spotted her little drum in the corner. Instead of banging it, she flipped it over and used the soft hide as a fan, creating a gentle breeze to cool her mother and mask the background noise with a calm, steady rhythm.

Finally, peace returned. Mama Luma snored gently, still asleep. Lyly sat down beside her, smiling with pride.

Even in the noisiest jungle, nothing could stop Lyly from caring for the one she loved most.
