It was a bright and early morning when Monkey Lyly woke up, her mind already filled with big ideas. As soon as she opened her eyes, she decided that today was the perfect day to wash the dishes all by herself — no matter what her mother said!
Still rubbing her sleepy eyes, Lyly hurried to the kitchen where her mother was already preparing breakfast. “Mom! I’m a big girl now. Let me wash the dishes!” she declared proudly, puffing out her tiny chest.
Her mother chuckled warmly, shaking her head. “No, Lyly. It’s still early, and you’ll make a mess. Let me finish first.”
But Monkey Lyly wouldn’t hear it. She crossed her arms, stamped her little foot, and cried out, “Mom… Stop it right now! I want to do it!”
Seeing her daughter’s stubborn face, her mother finally gave in — but not without a few warnings. “Be careful, Lyly. Go slow and don’t splash too much water.”
Excited, Lyly dragged a small stool to the sink, rolled up her sleeves, and began her work. At first, things went smoothly. She picked up a plastic cup and washed it with great care, smiling at her reflection in the shiny surface. “See, I can do it!” she said proudly.
But soon, disaster struck. As she tried to clean a slippery bowl, it slipped from her tiny hands and splashed into the soapy water, sending foam flying everywhere. In seconds, the kitchen floor turned into a mini lake, and Lyly stood in the middle of it, dripping wet and wide-eyed.
Her mother rushed over, trying not to laugh at the sight. Lyly looked up sheepishly and whispered, “Mom… maybe you were right.”
Despite the mess, her mother just hugged her and said, “It’s okay, sweetheart. You were trying your best.”
The two of them spent the next half hour cleaning the kitchen together, laughing and splashing like kids. In the end, even though Lyly’s morning plan didn’t turn out perfectly, she and her mom made a beautiful memory — full of soap bubbles, teamwork, and lots of love.
