Monkey Lyly Was Confused and Curious When She Saw a Strange Tuber That Resembled a Buffalo

One sunny afternoon, Monkey Lyly followed her mother to the market. The market was always a magical place for Lyly, full of colors, scents, and exciting surprises. As she skipped happily behind her mother, something unusual caught her big curious eyes.

Right at the corner of a vegetable stall, there it was — a huge, bumpy tuber that looked oddly like a buffalo! It even seemed to have two little “horns” sticking out, and its rough, brown skin made it look even more like a real animal. Lyly stopped in her tracks, her mouth slightly open in amazement.

She tugged at her mother’s hand, pointing eagerly.
“Mom! Mom! Look! There’s a tiny buffalo here!” she cried.

Her mother laughed warmly and walked over with her. “That’s not a buffalo, Lyly. That’s just a very big yam!”

But Lyly wasn’t convinced. She circled around the tuber, inspecting it from every angle. She poked its “nose” carefully and even whispered, “Are you real?” into what she thought was its ear.

The vendor noticed Lyly’s confusion and chuckled. He picked up the strange tuber and showed her the underside, explaining, “See, little one? It’s just a funny-looking vegetable. Sometimes nature likes to play tricks on us!”

Lyly blinked in surprise. She had seen many yams before, but none that looked like a real animal! Her imagination ran wild — maybe this yam was special, a magical one that would turn into a real buffalo if she wished hard enough!

Determined, Lyly asked her mother if they could buy it and take it home. Her mother agreed, amused by her daughter’s excitement. Back at home, Lyly carefully placed the “buffalo yam” in a cozy spot next to her bed. She even talked to it at night, telling it stories and promising to take care of it.

Though the tuber never transformed into a buffalo, it gave Lyly days of joy, laughter, and dreams. Her mother smiled every time she saw Lyly chatting away with her vegetable “friend,” feeling grateful for the innocence and imagination of her sweet little monkey.
