It was a bright and cheerful morning when CUTIS and Buem decided to help Mom with her daily chores. Their mission seemed simple: collect eggs from the chicken coop and carry Mom’s large woven basket back to the house. Both of them were full of confidence, smiling proudly as they grabbed the basket handles. But the moment they lifted it, their expressions instantly changed.
The basket was much heavier than they expected. Inside were dozens of freshly laid eggs, carefully arranged, but still wobbling slightly as the basket moved. CUTIS tried to take a step forward, only to wobble backward, while Buem struggled to keep his balance. They exchanged a worried look, then burst into laughter. Determined not to give up so easily, they took a deep breath and tried again.
Step by step, they shuffled forward. The eggs gently clinked against each other, making both of them freeze in fear. “Careful! If we drop this, Mom will not be happy,” Buem whispered. CUTIS nodded seriously, gripping the handle even tighter. After just a few steps, their arms began to ache, and sweat beaded on their foreheads.
Suddenly, the basket tilted slightly, and both of them gasped. They quickly set it down, hearts pounding. After a short pause, CUTIS flopped onto the ground dramatically and sighed, “I give up!” Buem followed, lying beside him and raising his hands in surrender. “Me too! Mom’s egg basket is too powerful!”
Mom, who had been watching from a distance, couldn’t help but laugh. She walked over and gently showed them how to balance the basket and carry it together more carefully. With her guidance, they managed to lift it again, this time more steadily. Though it was still heavy, they felt proud to complete the task.
By the time they reached the kitchen, both were tired but smiling brightly. This simple chore turned into a memorable and funny moment, teaching CUTIS and Buem that teamwork, patience, and a good sense of humor can make even the hardest tasks enjoyable.
