Poor Monkey Lyly! For the past few days, she had been too busy playing, exploring, and getting into mischief to even think about taking a bath. Every time her mom called her in for bath time, Lyly would come up with a new excuse — she was drawing, pretending to cook, or simply “too tired.” But little did she know, her playful procrastination was about to catch up with her.
It started when she went to give her beloved stuffed bear a big cuddle. She wrinkled her nose. “Hmm, why does Bear smell weird?” she thought. But the more she sniffed, the more she realized… it wasn’t Bear — it was her! Lyly looked down at herself, then gave her armpit a little sniff. Her eyes widened in shock. “Oh no!” she gasped, covering her nose and looking around nervously.
Feeling self-conscious, Lyly quietly tried to rub her fur with a towel. She even sprayed some of her mom’s floral perfume, thinking that would do the trick. But the sweet scent mixed with the days-old dirt only made things worse. When Diem and Quynh came over to play and gently scooted away from her, Lyly knew her secret was out.
Her mother finally noticed her odd behavior. “Lyly, is something wrong?” she asked. Lyly’s ears drooped, and she whispered, “Mom, I stink…”
Mom couldn’t help but smile and gave Lyly a gentle hug (holding her breath just a little). “That’s okay, sweetheart. Let’s take a nice warm bath together.” With bubbles, playful splashing, and her favorite shampoo, Lyly was back to her clean, sweet-smelling self in no time.
Later that evening, Lyly danced around the house in her fresh pajamas, proudly announcing, “I smell like flowers now!” Everyone laughed, and Lyly learned a lesson — baths may seem boring, but feeling fresh and clean feels even better than playing all day!
