One bright morning, Cubis woke up earlier than usual and peeked over at Luk, who was still fast asleep. Luk’s tummy made a soft growling sound, and Cubis laughed quietly. “I’ll surprise him with breakfast,” Cubis thought proudly. He quickly washed his face, grabbed his little wooden cart, and headed outside with a happy bounce in his step.
The morning street was full of life. Vendors were setting up their stalls, steam rising from pots of hot porridge, and the smell of fresh bread floated through the air. Cubis pushed his cart carefully, imagining Luk’s smile when he returned with warm food. He felt very responsible, like a true big brother on an important mission.
Just as Cubis reached the corner near his favorite breakfast stall, his little cart suddenly stopped. Clack! One wheel refused to move. Cubis froze, then tried pushing harder. The cart didn’t budge. He pulled it back, shook it gently, and even stared at it seriously, hoping it would magically fix itself.
“Oh no… please work,” Cubis whispered, wiping his forehead. People passing by chuckled at the sight of Cubis arguing with his stubborn cart. For a moment, Cubis felt embarrassed and worried. What if he couldn’t bring breakfast home for Luk?
Taking a deep breath, Cubis remembered that giving up was not an option. He knelt down and examined the wheel closely. A small stone was jammed tightly inside. With careful fingers and a little effort, Cubis managed to pull it out. The wheel turned again, smooth and free. Cubis jumped up with joy and laughed out loud.
He quickly bought Luk’s favorite breakfast and hurried home, pushing his cart proudly. When Luk saw Cubis returning, his eyes sparkled with excitement. “You did it!” Luk cheered.
As they sat together eating breakfast, Cubis told Luk all about the troublesome cart. Luk laughed so hard that he nearly spilled his food. That simple morning became a special memory, teaching them that even small problems can be solved with patience, courage, and a smile 😄
