Monkey Lyly was happily playing, swinging from tree to tree, when something unexpected caught her attention. Her caretaker was sitting nearby, scrolling through the phone, and suddenly, a familiar face appeared on the screen—Gao!
Lyly’s eyes widened with surprise. She stopped what she was doing and leaned in closer, staring at the phone screen with intense curiosity. It had been a while since she last saw Gao, and the moment she recognized his face, a wave of emotions washed over her.
At first, she chirped excitedly, reaching out toward the phone as if she could touch him. She tilted her head, trying to understand why Gao was there but not actually there. Her tiny hands gently patted the screen, hoping he would respond. But when she realized he wasn’t coming out of the phone, her excitement turned into longing.
Lyly let out soft, sad whimpers, her big eyes looking up at her caretaker, as if asking, Where is Gao? Why isn’t he here? She rested her head on their lap, sighing deeply. Seeing Gao on the phone made her miss him even more.
She curled up, holding the phone close to her chest, as if hugging Gao through the screen. It was clear—Lyly truly missed her dear friend. She remembered all the times they played together, chased each other around, and shared fruits. Those were some of her happiest moments, and now, without him around, she felt a little lonely.
Her caretaker, noticing Lyly’s sadness, gently stroked her head. “Don’t worry, Lyly,” they said softly. “Gao will come back soon.” Hearing those words, Lyly perked up slightly, though her eyes still carried a trace of longing.
Even though Gao was not there with her at that moment, Lyly knew deep down that their bond was unbreakable. And until they met again, she would hold onto those memories, waiting for the day she could run into his arms and play together once more.
