Lyly… Stop it right now! Monkey Lyly was naughty and made noise that kept her mother from resting.
It was a peaceful afternoon, and Mama had just laid down for a quick nap after a long morning of chores. The house was quiet, the sun peeked softly through the curtains, and everything seemed calm—until Monkey Lyly decided it was the perfect time to unleash her wild energy.
At first, it started with a soft humming sound. Then, the rattling of toy blocks. Before long, the entire living room was filled with the clatter of plastic cups, the squeaking of toy animals, and Lyly’s giggles echoing like a little mischievous bell. Her mother stirred in bed, frowning but still trying to rest.
“Lyly, sweetheart,” Mama called out gently, half-asleep. “Can you play a bit more quietly? Mommy’s resting.”
But Lyly, full of excitement and mischief, had other plans. She pulled out a pot and a spoon, and before anyone could stop her, she began drumming with the enthusiasm of a rock star in concert. Bang! Clang! Clang! The entire house vibrated with the noise.
Startled and wide-eyed, Mama sat up. “Lyly… stop it right now!” she said firmly, stepping into the living room. Lyly paused mid-bang, her eyes wide with surprise. She hadn’t realized just how loud she was being.
Seeing her mother looking so tired made Lyly’s little heart sink. “I’m sorry, Mama,” she whispered, dropping the spoon. “I just wanted to make you music.”
Mama couldn’t help but smile through her fatigue. She sat down beside Lyly and gave her a soft hug. “I know, my love. But Mommy needs a bit of quiet to feel better.”
Lyly nodded seriously. “Okay. I’ll be quiet now. I’ll make music in my head.”
From that moment on, Lyly tiptoed around the house like a sneaky little mouse, checking on her mom every few minutes and proudly showing how “quiet” she could be. Even though she was naughty, her sweet heart always found a way to make things right.
