Once the hole was ready, CUTIS carefully carried over a small young tree. Instead of placing it neatly like a human would, he hugged it tightly, sat down, and rolled backward—accidentally dropping the tree straight into the hole. Next came the funniest part. CUTIS used his hands, feet, and even his bottom to push the soil back into the hole. He stomped around in circles, dancing on the dirt to pack it down, occasionally stopping to clap proudly at his own hard work. When he finished, the tree leaned slightly to one side, but CUTIS stood beside it, chest out, smiling like a hero.
Finally, CUTIS ran to Mom, grabbed her hand, and gently pulled her toward the tree. He pointed at it again and again, then placed Mom’s hand on the soil. The message was clear: “I’m sorry, and I made this for you.” Mom couldn’t help but laugh, her disappointment melting away instantly.
She hugged CUTIS tightly, thanking him for the most unique apology ever. The crooked little tree became known as the “Apology Mom Tree,” a funny and loving reminder that sometimes, the best apologies are messy, heartfelt, and full of laughter.
