Let’s Dance Kaka! Diem and Monkey Kaka Make a Mess of Bedtime
Bedtime in Diem’s house is usually a quiet affair — warm milk, a goodnight story, and soft lullabies. But not tonight. Tonight was a different story altogether, thanks to Monkey Kaka and Diem’s sudden burst of energy just as the clock struck bedtime.
As Mom dimmed the lights and called out, “Time to sleep, little ones,” Diem giggled and whispered to Kaka, “Let’s dance first!” That was all the encouragement Monkey Kaka needed. With a mischievous sparkle in her eyes, she jumped off the bed, stood on two feet, and started twirling with her arms outstretched like a ballerina — or at least her monkey version of one.
Diem, not wanting to be outdone, turned on her favorite children’s music from her little speaker. The cheerful tune filled the room, and suddenly, it was no longer bedtime — it was party time! The two of them spun around, tossed pillows into the air, and turned the room into a dance floor. Pajamas flew off the bed, stuffed animals became dance partners, and their laughter echoed down the hallway.
Mom returned to check on them, only to find a scene of complete chaos. The bed was a mountain of blankets, the floor was covered in toys, and Diem and Kaka were in the middle of a very enthusiastic dance move, holding hands and bouncing up and down.
Trying not to laugh, Mom crossed her arms and said, “What happened to bedtime?” Diem replied breathlessly, “Kaka needed to dance before sleeping!”
With a smile and a shake of her head, Mom finally got them to settle down — but not before one last slow dance, with Kaka hugging Diem tightly.
That night, the room was messy, but the memories were beautiful. And as they drifted off to sleep, cuddled up together, Mom whispered, “Every night should end with laughter like this.”
