CUTIS & Baby Monkey Won’t Sleep, Making Dad Confused

It was well past bedtime, and the house had grown quiet. Dad turned off the lights, stretched, and expected everyone to drift into sleep. But CUTIS and the baby monkey had other plans. Instead of settling down, they were wide awake, full of energy, and clearly not ready to rest.

CUTIS rolled around on the mat, pretending to sleep for a second before popping back up with a grin. The baby monkey copied him perfectly, giggling and bouncing in excitement. Dad watched in confusion, rubbing his eyes. He checked the clock twice, certain it was late enough for sleep.

Trying to help, Dad gently patted their backs and spoke softly, hoping to calm them. CUTIS closed his eyes dramatically, snored loudly for one second, then burst into laughter. The baby monkey clapped happily, thinking it was a game. Dad couldn’t help but smile, even though he was exhausted.

Next, Dad tried telling a bedtime story. He spoke slowly, lowering his voice, describing peaceful dreams and quiet nights. CUTIS listened carefully at first, nodding seriously, but soon started whispering to the baby monkey. Within seconds, both of them were giggling under the blanket, completely missing the point.

Dad scratched his head, truly puzzled. He offered warm milk, thinking it might help. CUTIS drank politely, then jumped up with renewed energy. The baby monkey followed, racing around the room like it was morning instead of midnight.

Finally, Dad sat down and watched them for a moment. He realized they weren’t being naughty—they were simply happy and full of love. He lay down between them, pulling them close. CUTIS slowly relaxed, feeling Dad’s steady presence. The baby monkey yawned, curling against Dad’s chest.

One by one, their movements slowed. Laughter turned into soft breaths. Dad smiled as he felt them finally drift off to sleep. Though confused at first, he understood in the end: sometimes, all they needed wasn’t rules or tricks, but comfort and closeness.
