The morning sun had just peeked over the hills when Lala rushed out of the house, her tiny feet pattering excitedly across the wooden porch. Today wasn’t just any day on the farm—today was the day she and Mom would finally decorate their cozy little eatery, a small corner they’d been preparing for weeks. It would be a place where family, friends, and all the farm’s beloved animals could gather for warm meals and cheerful chatter.
Mom was already waiting by the door, holding a box overflowing with ribbons, tiny lanterns, colorful fabrics, and wooden signs Dad had carved. Lala’s eyes sparkled as she peeked inside. “Can we start now, Mom?” she asked, almost bouncing.
“Of course,” Mom laughed. “Let’s make it beautiful.”
Their first task was setting up the tables. Lala chose the checkered red-and-white cloths because they reminded her of picnic days. She helped Mom drape them neatly, tugging the corners until they were perfectly straight. Then came the small vases—each filled with wildflowers Lala had picked herself from the meadow earlier that morning. The mix of yellow, pink, and white blossoms brought the perfect touch of nature to the eatery.
Next, Mom handed Lala a string of warm fairy lights. Together, they wrapped them around the beams of the little hut. When they plugged them in, the entire place shimmered softly, turning the space into a magical glow that made Lala gasp with delight.
They added hand-painted signs, cozy cushions, and a tiny chalkboard menu that Lala wrote on with her careful, wobbly handwriting. “Fresh eggs! Sweet corn soup! Mom’s crispy pancakes!” she scribbled proudly.
As they finished, the animals began wandering over—curious ducks waddled near the entrance, the chickens clucked in approval, and even the goats peeked in as if asking when the grand opening would be.
Mom lifted Lala high so she could hang the final decoration—a little wooden heart that read Welcome with Love. When it clicked into place, they stood back and admired their work.
“Mom,” Lala whispered, smiling wide, “it’s perfect.”
And on that peaceful farm, their cozy little eatery glowed with warmth, laughter, and the joy only a mother and child could create together.
