The morning started like any other—Monkey Lyly hopping around the yard, chasing butterflies and climbing her favorite tree. But today, something special was waiting for her, something she didn’t expect at all.
As Mom swept the porch, their kindly neighbor, Aunt Hana, walked toward the house holding a small, colorful bag. She smiled warmly and called out, “Is Lyly here? I have a little gift for her.”
The moment Lyly heard her name, she rushed forward with excitement, her tiny feet pattering against the ground. Her curious eyes sparkled as she peeked at the bag, wondering what treasure might be inside. Aunt Hana knelt down and held it out gently. “This is for you, Lyly. I made it with love.”
Lyly carefully reached inside and pulled out… a soft, handmade scarf, knitted with rainbow-colored yarn. It was tiny—perfect for Lyly’s little neck—and decorated with a small heart at the end. The neighbor had even embroidered Lyly’s name on it.
Lyly froze.
She looked at the scarf… then at Aunt Hana… then back at the scarf again. Her big round eyes slowly softened, and her lips curled into the sweetest expression. She gently pressed the scarf to her cheek, as if feeling the love woven into every thread.
Mom laughed softly. “Lyly, do you like it?”
Instead of answering, Lyly wrapped her tiny arms around Aunt Hana’s shoulders, giving her the most heartfelt hug. Aunt Hana’s smile widened; she didn’t expect such a tender reaction, and her eyes grew misty with joy.
Once the scarf was on, Lyly strutted proudly around the yard, showing it off to every chicken, every duck, even the goat. She kept touching the little embroidered heart, like she wanted to make sure it was real.
The farm suddenly felt warmer, softer, and filled with love.
Before going inside, Lyly ran back to the fence and waved at Aunt Hana, her scarf fluttering in the breeze. It wasn’t just a gift. It was kindness—pure and simple—and Lyly felt it deeply.
Yes… it was truly full of love here.
And Lyly felt grateful for every bit of it. 💖
