I Can’t Help but Laugh! Monkey Lyly Gets Restless When She Hears the Neighbor’s Puppy Making Noise

It was a peaceful afternoon at home, with Monkey Lyly lounging on the living room floor, swinging her tiny feet and enjoying her favorite snack. Everything was calm—until a sudden burst of barking echoed from the neighbor’s yard. Lyly’s head shot up instantly, eyes wide, ears alert. The noisy culprit was none other than the neighbor’s new puppy, Coco, who had recently discovered his voice and was using it proudly.

Lyly froze, listening closely. Woof! Woof! Woof! The puppy barked again, louder this time. That was it. Lyly couldn’t stay still anymore. She jumped up, pacing back and forth like a tiny monkey detective on high alert. Every bark made her tail flick and her eyebrows rise. Mom watched from the kitchen, already trying not to laugh.

Lyly tiptoed to the window and peeked through the curtains. There was Coco—rolling around, barking at a leaf, barking at the wind, even barking at his own tail. Lyly’s jaw dropped. Her little hands pressed to the glass as if she couldn’t believe the amount of unnecessary noise happening outside.

Another bark came, and Lyly spun around dramatically, throwing her hands in the air. She chattered loudly, as if telling Mom, “Please make him stop! I can’t focus!” Mom burst into laughter. “Lyly, he’s just a baby puppy,” she said, but Lyly was unconvinced.

Refusing to be defeated, Lyly climbed onto the sofa, then to the armrest, and finally perched at the very top like a tiny queen surveying her kingdom. She let out a long sigh—only to snap upright again when Coco barked at a butterfly.

Lyly covered her ears with both hands. She flopped on the sofa dramatically, rolling around like she was losing her mind. Mom laughed so hard she had to sit down. Lyly glared playfully at Mom, as if to say, “This is serious!”

Finally, when Coco grew tired and the barking stopped, Lyly slowly relaxed. She looked out the window one more time, making sure the chaos was truly over, then settled quietly next to Mom.

But Mom knew the truth—one more bark, and Lyly would be right back in restless mode. And honestly… she couldn’t help but laugh every single time.
