It was a sunny afternoon, and the bustling sounds of the street came alive as the scent of sizzling food filled the air. With a firm grip on her mother’s hand, Lyly pulled her through the small crowd. “Look! That’s the pancake I like!” she pointed, nearly jumping in joy as she spotted her favorite banana pancake being flipped with butter and topped with chocolate sauce.
Her mother let out a soft chuckle. “Okay, okay! One at a time,” she said, letting Lyly choose her favorites. The little monkey beamed, politely asking the vendor for a pancake while watching it being prepared with wide-eyed wonder. As soon as it was handed over, she took a small bite and let out a satisfied “Mmm!” that made everyone around smile.
But Lyly wasn’t done. Next, she pointed to a cart selling coconut ice cream served in little cups made of fresh coconut shells. She clapped her hands in excitement and again pulled her mother along, whispering “Come on, come on!” as if she feared it might sell out.
After a few delicious bites and happy giggles, Lyly sat on a nearby bench with her mom, enjoying their street food feast together. Her joy was infectious — her excitement, pure and honest.
