Monkey Lyly is disappointed because her mother brought Tommy the cat into her new home

When Monkey Lyly and her mother moved into their new home, everything seemed perfect at first. The rooms were bright, the air smelled fresh, and Lyly had already picked her favorite corner by the window to play with her toys. She thought this was going to be her happy new beginning with her mom — just the two of them. But things didn’t go as Lyly expected.

A few days later, her mother came home carrying a basket. Lyly’s curious eyes widened, her tail flicking with excitement. But when the basket opened, out came a furry orange cat — Tommy. He meowed softly, blinking at Lyly as if to say hello. Lyly froze. “A cat? In my house?” she seemed to think.

At first, Lyly tried to ignore Tommy, but it wasn’t easy. Tommy followed her everywhere — climbing on the sofa where she liked to nap, eating snacks from her bowl, even sitting on her mother’s lap! Lyly’s little heart sank each time she saw her mom stroke Tommy’s soft fur. She felt pushed aside, no longer the center of attention she used to be.

Her disappointment showed in every gesture. She stopped playing, refused her favorite fruits, and sat by the window with a sad face, watching her mother cuddle Tommy. It wasn’t anger — it was sadness. Lyly missed when it was just her and Mom sharing laughs and hugs.

But Lyly’s mother noticed her daughter’s sadness. One afternoon, she sat beside Lyly, giving her gentle cuddles while Tommy quietly watched. Slowly, she let Lyly hold Tommy’s paw. The cat purred softly, and Lyly’s eyes softened with curiosity.

Over the next few days, something beautiful happened — the two started to bond. Tommy shared his toys, and Lyly learned to be gentle. Soon, they were playing together, running around the house, and even napping side by side.

Lyly realized that love doesn’t shrink when shared — it grows. What started as disappointment turned into a new friendship, filling their new home with laughter, warmth, and the sound of two unlikely friends living in harmony.
