Monkey Lyly had always loved dressing up. Every morning, she would stand in front of her little mirror, choosing colorful clothes from her tiny wardrobe. Today, she decided to wear her favorite outfit — a bright yellow dress with pink ribbons and a funny little hat that she thought made her look stylish. Proud and excited, she skipped out happily to join her friends at the park.
But as soon as Lyly arrived, something unexpected happened. Some of the other animals started giggling. “Look at her hat!” one monkey whispered. “That dress is too bright!” another chuckled. Lyly stopped in her tracks, her smile fading. She looked down at her outfit, suddenly unsure. The laughter around her grew louder, and her cheeks turned red with embarrassment. She didn’t understand why they were laughing — she had just wanted to look pretty.
Feeling hurt, Lyly ran to a quiet corner under a tree. She took off her hat and hugged her knees, trying not to cry. Her best friend, Luk, noticed and quickly followed. “Lyly, don’t listen to them,” Luk said softly. “I think you look beautiful — and brave! Not everyone has your confidence.” Lyly looked up with teary eyes. “Really? But they all laughed…” Luk nodded. “They laughed because they don’t understand how special you are. You always wear what makes you happy, and that’s what matters most.”
Luk’s words warmed Lyly’s heart. After a moment, she smiled again, wiped her tears, and put her hat back on. “You’re right,” she said proudly. “This is my style!” She stood up tall and returned to the group, this time walking with confidence. Slowly, the others stopped laughing — they couldn’t help but admire her courage and charm.
From that day on, Lyly became an example for everyone. Her bright dress and bold personality taught her friends that being different isn’t something to be ashamed of — it’s something to celebrate. And Lyly? She continued to wear her colorful outfits with pride, knowing that true beauty shines from within.
