Where Did Lyly and Her Mother Go? Lyly’s Monkey Picnic, Setting Up Camp
One sunny morning, Monkey Lyly bounced around the house with excitement. Her mother had promised her a special picnic day, and Lyly couldn’t contain her enthusiasm. She watched eagerly as her mother packed a picnic basket filled with delicious snacks, fruits, and Lyly’s favorite sweet potatoes.
“Where are we going, Mom?” Lyly asked, her big eyes shining with curiosity.
“To a beautiful spot by the river where the air is fresh and the trees give plenty of shade,” her mother replied with a smile.
As they made their way through the lush, green forest, Lyly marveled at everything around her—the birds singing, the leaves rustling, and the colorful flowers swaying gently in the breeze. It felt like a magical adventure, and she couldn’t wait to set up camp.
When they reached the perfect spot near the riverbank, Lyly squealed with delight. “Wow! This place is so beautiful!” she exclaimed, spinning around with her arms stretched wide.
Her mother chuckled. “Alright, little explorer, let’s get our camp ready.”
Together, they unfolded a big, cozy blanket and placed it on the soft grass. Lyly helped unpack the food, her tiny hands arranging the fruits and snacks neatly. But what excited her the most was the thought of roasting sweet potatoes over a campfire.
“Mom, can we start the fire now?” Lyly asked, her voice trembling with excitement.
“Patience, Lyly. First, we have to gather some firewood,” her mother gently reminded her.
Lyly darted around, picking up sticks and dry leaves like a little scavenger. When the fire was finally lit, the two of them roasted sweet potatoes and enjoyed the warmth of the crackling flames.
They spent the afternoon laughing, telling stories, and even splashing their feet in the cool river. Lyly felt so happy and content. As the sun began to set, she cuddled up to her mother and whispered, “I love our monkey picnics, Mom.”
