Diem and Quynh Fought Over the Piggy Bank Making Mom Feel Embarrassed

It started as a peaceful afternoon at the family’s favorite café. Mom had brought Diem and Quynh out for some sweet treats as a reward for their good behavior at school. The cozy ambiance and delicious cakes had everyone smiling—until Diem and Quynh’s playful conversation took a sharp turn.

The argument began when Diem mentioned her piggy bank was almost full. Quynh’s eyes widened with curiosity and a hint of envy. “How come yours is full? You always spend your money on candy!” Quynh teased.

Diem pouted and held her head high. “Because I saved all my lucky money from New Year! And you always borrow coins from me and never return them!”

“I do return them!” Quynh snapped defensively. “It’s just… not always on time.”

Their voices rose, and soon the entire café was glancing their way. Mom’s cheeks turned pink as she looked around, noticing a few stares and even some amused smiles from nearby tables.

“Girls, keep your voices down,” Mom whispered, but her words were drowned out by their escalating bickering.

“You never share! That’s why your piggy bank is full!” Quynh accused.

“Well, you’re always wasting money on toys you don’t even play with!” Diem retorted, her voice shaking with frustration.

Mom sighed, feeling the embarrassment creeping through her. She reached out and gently placed her hands on their shoulders. “Alright, that’s enough, you two.”

The girls paused, their angry expressions softening as they saw the serious look on Mom’s face.

“Listen, money is meant to be saved and spent wisely, but most importantly, it’s not worth fighting over. How about we make a deal? You both help me with chores, and we’ll split the earnings to fill your piggy banks equally.”

Diem and Quynh glanced at each other, their anger slowly fading. They nodded, mumbling their apologies to each other.

As they left the café, holding hands once again, Mom couldn’t help but chuckle. The argument had been silly, but it was just another moment in their wonderfully chaotic family life.
