Monkey Lyly deliberately lies in the sink to wash sweet potatoes, I can’t stop laughing.

Monkey Lyly has always been full of surprises, but nothing could prepare me for the scene I walked into today. I had just finished bringing home a basket of fresh sweet potatoes and set them down in the kitchen, ready to wash and cook. The moment my back was turned, Lyly decided she wanted to “help.”

When I came back, there she was—lying flat out in the sink as if it were her personal bathtub! Her little arms were splashing water everywhere, and right beside her floated the sweet potatoes. With the most serious look on her face, Lyly rubbed each one gently, as though she had been trained as the official kitchen assistant.

But it wasn’t just her determination that made me laugh—it was the way she sprawled out in the sink, tail dangling, legs stretched, enjoying every drop of water. She seemed to think the sink was the best spot in the house: a pool, a playground, and a workstation all in one. Every time she picked up a potato, she gave me a quick glance, as if to say, “See? I’m doing this properly!”

Of course, the floor around the sink quickly turned into a puddle. Water splashed onto the counters, and I was torn between stopping her and grabbing my phone to record the hilarious sight. Lyly, meanwhile, was having the time of her life, humming her little monkey sounds and tapping the potatoes against the sink like a drummer.

By the time she finished, the sweet potatoes were sparkling clean—but so was Lyly, soaked from head to toe. She hopped out proudly, shaking water all over me, clearly convinced she had done the most important job in the world.

I couldn’t even be mad. Watching Monkey Lyly deliberately lie in the sink to wash sweet potatoes was one of the funniest, most unforgettable things I’ve ever seen. Honestly, I still can’t stop laughing!
