Dad cracked one eye open, groggy but now smiling at his silly little alarm clock. But Cubis wasn’t finished. With a sudden burst of excitement, he dashed across the bed, stole Dad’s pillow, and ran in circles hugging it tightly as if it were a prize. Dad couldn’t help but laugh at the sight—sleep was no longer an option.
Finally, Dad sat up, hair messy, eyes half-closed, but laughter bubbling up. Cubis clapped his hands, thrilled with his victory. He had accomplished his morning mission: wake up Dad, no matter what.
The ending? Dad scooped up the giggling baby monkey and gave him a big hug. “Alright, alright—you win,” he said with a chuckle. Together, they headed to the kitchen, Cubis perched happily on Dad’s shoulder, ready to share breakfast and begin another day of joy and mischief.
