Are you okay Lyly? Monkey Lyly fell asleep on the way home from the market with her mother and then…

Monkey Lyly loved going to the market with her mother. Every trip was an adventure filled with new smells, funny people, and delicious fruit stalls. She would point excitedly at bananas, wave at friendly chickens, and try to sneak little snacks from the baskets. By the time their shopping was done, Lyly’s tiny feet were always tired from running everywhere.

This time, after finishing the last errand, Mom placed the heavy market bags on the bicycle and lifted Lyly gently into the front basket. The warm afternoon sun shined softly on Lyly’s face, and as the bicycle began to roll along the quiet road, her eyelids grew heavy. She yawned once… twice… and before Mom could say “Hold tight,” Lyly was fast asleep with her arms dangling over the side.

At first, Mom smiled, thinking her little monkey looked adorable curled up like a fluffy ball. But then—suddenly—the bicycle hit a tiny bump! Lyly wobbled dangerously, leaning too far over the edge. Mom gasped and quickly stopped the bike. “Lyly! Are you okay?” she called anxiously.

Lyly didn’t respond. She was still snoring gently.

Mom gently adjusted her, placing Lyly securely in the basket and tying a small scarf across to prevent her from falling. As they continued the ride, Mom kept glancing down, worry painted across her face.

Halfway home, Lyly finally stirred. She blinked up at her mother with sleepy eyes and murmured, “Mama… are we home yet?”

Mom sighed in relief and gave her a big kiss on the forehead. “You scared me, my little dreamer,” she whispered.

Lyly rubbed her eyes, confused. “I was just… taking a banana nap,” she insisted proudly.

When they arrived home, Lyly jumped out full of new energy—helping Mom carry one tiny apple while Mom struggled with all the heavy bags. Mom laughed and shook her head. No matter how tired or silly Lyly could be, she was Mom’s greatest joy.

And from that day on, whenever they returned from the market, Mom always reminded her:
“No sleeping in the basket, my little monkey adventurer!”
