Lala loved visiting her grandma’s farm. Every time she arrived, the air smelled fresh like grass and sunshine, and the sound of animals filled her ears with excitement. This weekend, Mom decided they would learn something special—Grandma’s farming and livestock wisdom!
Grandma welcomed them with her warm smile. “Are you two ready to become real farmers today?” she asked while handing Lala a tiny straw hat. Lala nodded enthusiastically and grabbed her notebook to write down everything she learned.
Their first stop was the vegetable garden. Grandma knelt beside rows of tomatoes, leafy greens, and carrots. “Plants are like children,” she explained. “They need food, water, and love.” Lala carefully watered each plant, making sure not to drown the tiny seedlings. Mom took notes on how compost helps the soil grow strong.
Next came the chicken coop. The hens clucked and flapped as Lala sprinkled feed on the ground. Grandma showed her how to collect warm eggs gently so they wouldn’t crack. “Happy hens lay better eggs,” Grandma said while stroking a fluffy chicken named Pecky. Lala giggled when Pecky hopped onto her arm like a queen claiming her throne.
It was time to meet the goats. One goat, named Coco, decided Lala’s ribbon looked delicious and tried to nibble it! Mom laughed while Grandma explained how goats need clean water and healthy grass every day. Lala wrote: Goats are naughty but very smart!
Before lunch, they visited the cows. Lala watched as Grandma milked one gently. “Always be kind and calm,” Grandma said. “Animals trust you when you treat them with respect.” Lala tried milking for the first time and gasped proudly when a stream of milk splashed into the pail.
After a full morning of learning, they sat beneath a shady tree enjoying fresh fruit and warm milk. Lala snuggled into Mom’s arm and said, “Grandma knows so much! I want to learn everything!”
Mom smiled. “That’s why we’re here. One day, this knowledge will be yours too.”
Grandma winked happily. “A farm grows food… but it also grows family.”
And Lala knew this was the most important lesson of all. 🌱🐔🐐🐄💚
