Cubis the curious little monkey was lounging in the garden, munching happily on a ripe banana, when suddenly Cutis came racing down the path. His tiny feet pounded against the ground, his arms waving wildly in the air, and his eyes shining with excitement. “Cubis! Cubis!” he shouted breathlessly, “You won’t believe this—I’ve got hot news!”
Startled, Cubis nearly dropped his banana. “Hot news? What happened? Tell me quickly!” he demanded, his tail twitching in suspense.
Cutis took a deep breath, still panting from running so fast. “You know the old mango tree by the river? The one we always climb but never find enough fruit? Well… today, it’s bursting with the biggest, juiciest mangoes you’ve ever seen! And guess what—nobody else has found it yet!”
Cubis’ eyes grew wide, his mouth hanging open in shock. “Are you serious? The mango tree is full?!” He could hardly believe it. For weeks, he and Cutis had been searching for ripe fruit, always disappointed when the branches were empty. Now, suddenly, there was treasure waiting for them.
Without wasting a second, Cubis leapt to his feet. “Come on! We can’t let anyone else get there before us!” He grabbed Cutis by the hand, and the two monkeys dashed toward the river, laughing and squealing with joy.
When they arrived, their eyes sparkled. Just as Cutis had said, the tree was heavy with golden mangoes, glowing in the sunlight like treasures in the sky. The sweet aroma filled the air, making Cubis’ stomach rumble.
Climbing quickly, they filled their arms with fruit, eating some right away while saving others to bring home. “Cutis, you’re the best friend ever for telling me this news!” Cubis exclaimed between bites.
Cutis grinned proudly, juice dripping down his chin. “I told you it was hot news!”
From that day, the secret of the mango tree became their special discovery. And every time Cubis thought about it, he smiled—thankful for a best friend who always shared the sweetest news.
