Cubis has always been a cheeky little monkey, full of curiosity and mischief. He loves exploring, climbing, and especially copying everything Dad does. One afternoon, Dad was busy working when he set his phone down on the table for just a moment. That was all Cubis needed. With a quick glance to make sure no one was watching, he snatched the phone with his tiny hands and scampered off before Dad could notice.
At first, Dad thought he misplaced it. He checked the counter, the couch, even his pockets—but no phone. Meanwhile, Cubis had already slipped quietly under the bed, his new “secret base.” The glow from the screen lit up his little face as he tapped clumsily at the screen. Somehow, he managed to open YouTube, the place he had seen Dad watching videos so many times.
There he was, completely hidden, giggling to himself as he scrolled through funny animal clips, cartoons, and anything that caught his eye. The muffled sound of playful music and laughter drifted out from under the bed, finally giving Dad a clue.
“Cubis? Where’s my phone?” Dad called out. No answer—just a suspicious silence, followed by a tiny giggle. He knelt down and peeked under the bed, only to see two bright eyes staring back at him, the phone clutched tightly to Cubis’s chest.
“Cubis!” Dad laughed, half frustrated and half amused. “You stole my phone just to watch YouTube?”
The little monkey squeaked as if to say, “Just five more minutes!” Dad shook his head, chuckling at the mischief. It was hard to be mad when Cubis looked so proud of himself.
In the end, Dad had to gently coax him out with a snack, trading treats for the phone. Cubis finally came crawling out, still grinning, as if he had pulled off the greatest heist in history.
That day, Dad realized one thing for sure—if he ever lost his phone again, the first place he’d check would be under the bed, where Cubis’s secret YouTube hideout was waiting.
