Naughty monkey Lyly sneaked away from her mother to play on the rooftop and fell asleep

Little Lyly was always the most curious of the troop, especially when it came to places she wasn’t supposed to go. Her mother had warned her many times not to climb too high or wander too far. But like all mischievous little ones, Lyly loved testing boundaries. One sunny afternoon, while her mother was busy gathering food, Lyly spotted an open path leading up to the rooftop of the house nearby. Her eyes sparkled with excitement.

Without a second thought, she scampered up the ledges, her tiny hands gripping the walls as if they were made just for her. When she finally reached the rooftop, she felt like the queen of the world. The wide, open space was perfect for running, jumping, and pretending she was flying. Lyly chased her own shadow, leaped from one end to the other, and giggled in her monkey way at how clever she was to have snuck away.

But after all that fun, the sun’s warmth and the steady breeze made her eyelids heavy. She curled up in a cozy corner, hidden behind a small chimney, and drifted into sleep. From the ground below, her mother realized Lyly was missing. Panic filled her heart as she searched frantically, calling out in worried cries. Other monkeys joined in, scanning trees and rooftops until one of them spotted the tiny ball of fur snoozing peacefully above.

Her mother climbed up quickly, torn between relief and frustration. She found Lyly sleeping soundly, her little chest rising and falling with each breath. Gently, she scooped her up, hugging her close. Lyly stirred, blinking drowsily, not yet realizing the trouble she had caused.

Back on the ground, her mother gave her a firm but loving nudge, reminding her that sneaking away could be dangerous. Lyly clung to her, sensing the mix of worry and love. She might not have fully understood, but she knew her mother’s arms were the safest place of all.

That day, Lyly learned that even adventurous little monkeys need to be careful—and that rooftops are not the best place for a nap.
