Shaking me down 😂

There are many ways a dog can ask for a treat—barking, pawing, or even sitting politely with those big hopeful eyes. But Chooch has mastered a completely different strategy: the full-on shakedown.

It always starts the same way. The moment the ice cream container comes out, he appears out of nowhere, sliding into position like a professional negotiator. He doesn’t bark, doesn’t whine—he just plants his chin on the edge of the couch, stares straight into your soul, and lets his eyes do all the talking.

And oh, those eyes. They’re not just begging; they’re demanding. They say, “I know you’ve got it. I can smell it. Hand it over and no one gets hurt.” It’s the kind of look that makes you second-guess yourself, like maybe you really do owe him a bite. Suddenly, you feel guilty for even thinking of eating in peace.

If you try to ignore him, he doubles down—shifting closer, sighing loudly, maybe giving a little nudge with his nose. It’s persistence at its finest. Before long, you’re not enjoying your dessert—you’re bargaining with a four-legged mob boss. “Okay, just one spoonful… but that’s it!”

And the second he gets his prize? Tail wagging, eyes sparkling, he looks completely satisfied, as if to say, “Good choice, human. You’ve done the right thing.” Then, with zero shame, he sits back down, ready to repeat the process the next time a snack appears.

It’s impossible not to laugh. Chooch isn’t just asking for food—he’s running a full-time operation, a professional ice cream bandit with a flawless strategy. And honestly? Resistance is futile. One look at that face, and you’re done for.

Call it manipulation, call it love, call it what you will. Around here, we just call it what it is: Chooch shaking me down. 😂
