One sunny afternoon, Cubis the little monkey was exploring the house as usual. He loved climbing onto chairs, swinging from the curtains, and poking his curious nose into every corner. But this time, his adventure took a surprising turn.
While chasing after his toy ball, Cubis wandered into the study room. The ball rolled under the desk, and Cubis crawled in to get it. Just as he grabbed it, the door behind him swung shut with a loud click! At first, he didn’t notice. But when he turned to leave, the door wouldn’t budge.
Cubis blinked, pulled on the handle, and then tugged harder. Nothing. His little heart started to race. The room suddenly felt bigger, darker, and scarier than before. He pressed his face to the crack under the door and squeaked, “Daaaad! Help meee!”
On the other side of the house, Dad heard the faint calls. At first, he thought Cubis was just playing his usual silly games. But then he heard the panic in his little voice. Dad rushed over, calling, “Cubis, where are you?”
“I’m stuck! In here!” Cubis cried, banging his tiny fists on the door.
Dad tried the knob—it was jammed tight. “Don’t worry, buddy, I’m right here,” he reassured gently. Cubis sniffled, ears drooping, but hearing Dad’s calm voice gave him some comfort.
After a few careful tries, Dad managed to push the door open. There stood Cubis, ball in hand, eyes wide with relief. The moment the door opened, Cubis leapt into Dad’s arms, wrapping his little arms tightly around his neck.
Dad chuckled and stroked his head. “See? No need to be scared. I’ll always come when you call.”
Cubis buried his face in Dad’s shoulder, still clinging tightly but slowly starting to smile again. His scary adventure was over, and he learned that even when things feel frightening, Dad would always be there to rescue him.
From then on, Cubis thought twice before chasing his ball into closed rooms!
