Cubis is usually a ball of energy, bouncing around the house and turning even the smallest moments into adventures. But today, things looked a little different. Early in the morning, Dad promised Cubis that they would go out together to get breakfast. The idea of food instantly made Cubis’s eyes light up — after all, breakfast is his favorite meal of the day.
But as they reached the café, Dad asked him to wait patiently while he went inside to place the order. At first, Cubis sat quietly, tail flicking and ears perked, watching every person that walked by. A few minutes passed. Then a few more. Suddenly, Cubis’s expression began to change. His little face shifted from curious to impatient, and then to full-on annoyed.
He sighed dramatically, plopped down on the floor, and gave Dad the most unimpressed look when he peeked through the window. People walking past couldn’t help but laugh. Some even stopped to snap a photo of the pouty little one waiting so seriously for his meal.
In truth, Cubis wasn’t angry at Dad — he was just hungry and couldn’t understand why breakfast was taking so long. The smells of fresh bread and sizzling eggs drifted through the air, teasing his senses and making the wait even harder. His little paws tapped the ground, almost like a drumroll announcing his impatience.
Finally, Dad walked out with a bag in his hands, and Cubis’s mood transformed instantly. His annoyed glare turned into pure excitement, his tail wagged furiously, and all traces of impatience vanished. To him, Dad was now the hero who had returned with a well-earned feast.
That morning, Cubis learned that waiting may be hard, but the reward is always worth it. And Dad? He learned that nothing motivates Cubis more than the promise of a warm, delicious breakfast.
