Monkey Lyly hugged her mother tightly, not wanting to leave her mother on a rainy night.

The rain poured heavily outside, tapping against the roof in a steady rhythm. The night felt colder than usual, and the wind whistled through the trees, making the world beyond seem dark and lonely. Inside, little Monkey Lyly clung to her mother, her tiny arms wrapped tightly around her waist. She pressed her face into her mother’s chest, refusing to let go.

Usually, Lyly loved her independence—running around, playing with toys, or exploring corners of the house. But that night was different. The sound of thunder frightened her, and every flash of lightning made her jump. She couldn’t imagine being anywhere other than right beside her mother, where she felt warm and safe.

Her mother stroked Lyly’s head gently, whispering soothing words. “It’s okay, Lyly. The storm will pass. You’re safe here with me.” Still, Lyly shook her head, tightening her hug as if she feared her mother might disappear. The rain might wash away her worries, but only her mother’s embrace could truly calm her heart.

Mom smiled, wrapping both arms around her little one. She rocked Lyly slowly, humming a soft tune that blended with the rain outside. Little by little, Lyly’s trembling eased. Her eyelids grew heavy, though she still clung tightly, unwilling to be apart for even a moment.

The night carried on with its storm, but inside, love created a shelter no rain could break through. Lyly’s world was simple: as long as she had her mother’s warmth, nothing could hurt her. By the time she finally drifted into sleep, she was still holding on, her tiny hands gripping her mother as if promising, I won’t let you go.

For her mother, that hug meant everything. It was more than comfort on a rainy night—it was a reminder of the unbreakable bond between them, one built on trust, love, and the need to simply be together.
