Little Lala had always been the center of attention in the house. From the moment she woke up until bedtime, her mom doted on her, making sure she had her favorite snacks, warm hugs, and bedtime cuddles. But everything changed the day a tiny, fragile kitten arrived at their doorstep. The poor kitten had been abandoned and needed a lot of care, so Mom immediately stepped in to nurse it back to health.
At first, Lala watched curiously as Mom fed the kitten with a small bottle and wrapped it in a soft blanket. But soon, curiosity turned into something else. Her little lips pouted, and her big eyes grew wide with a hint of sadness. Mom noticed her daughter sitting quietly nearby with a jealous expression, watching every move.
Lala didn’t quite understand why Mom was holding the kitten so much, whispering softly to it, and even letting it sleep in her lap. “What about me?” Lala thought to herself. She tugged on Mom’s sleeve, trying to get her attention, but Mom was busy making sure the kitten was warm and safe.
Finally, Lala crossed her arms, puffed out her cheeks, and made it very clear—she wasn’t happy about sharing her mom! Mom laughed gently when she saw her daughter’s little frown. She pulled Lala close and kissed her forehead. “Sweetheart,” she explained, “this kitten is very small and sick. It needs extra help right now. But you are my big girl, and no one could ever take your place.”
Hearing that, Lala’s frown slowly melted into a shy smile. She decided to help Mom by holding the soft towel, watching the kitten eat, and even whispering kind words to it. Before long, her jealousy turned into pride as she realized she wasn’t losing Mom’s love—she was sharing it.
That night, Lala snuggled beside Mom with the kitten tucked safely between them. For the first time, Lala understood that love doesn’t get smaller when shared—it only grows bigger.
