So Naughty! Monkey Lyly Hid Her Mother’s Slippers Because She Didn’t Take Her With Her
Monkey Lyly was feeling a little moody that morning. She noticed her mother getting dressed and preparing to leave the house. Lyly hoped it was a fun outing that included her. But when her mother gently patted her head and said, “Lyly, be good. I’ll be back soon,” the little monkey’s face drooped with disappointment.
“Why can’t I go too?” Lyly grumbled, watching her mother put on her jacket and gather her things. She felt left out and lonely. As her mother went to the kitchen to grab something, Lyly’s eyes landed on her mother’s favorite slippers sitting by the door.
A mischievous idea popped into her head. “If she doesn’t have her slippers, she can’t leave!” Lyly thought with a grin. Without hesitation, she grabbed the slippers, scurried off to her little hiding spot under the couch, and stuffed them there.
Moments later, her mother returned, ready to leave. But when she looked down, her slippers were missing! “Where did I leave them?” she muttered, searching around the living room. Monkey Lyly couldn’t help but giggle softly, covering her mouth with her tiny hands.
Her mother checked every corner of the house, looking confused and frustrated. “Lyly, have you seen my slippers?” she asked, eyeing the little monkey suspiciously. Lyly shook her head with a sly smile, pretending to be innocent.
But her mother wasn’t fooled for long. Noticing Lyly’s cheeky grin, she put her hands on her hips. “Lyly, what did you do with my slippers?” she asked with a playful but firm tone.
Feeling guilty but also amused, Lyly pointed under the couch. Her mother sighed and laughed at the same time. “Oh, Lyly! You’re such a naughty little monkey.”
Lyly lowered her head and admitted, “I just wanted you to stay with me, Mom.”
Her mother scooped her up in a warm hug. “I’ll be back before you know it. But next time, just ask me nicely, okay?”
Lyly nodded, her mischievousness replaced by love. And from that day on, Lyly learned that hiding things wouldn’t make her mother stay—but asking nicely just might.
