The man had seen the stray cat lingering around his street for weeks. Skin stretched thin over its frail frame, ribs clearly showing, and fur patchy from malnutrition, the cat looked like it had been fighting for survival for far too long. Each day, it lingered a little closer, its eyes filled with both hunger and hesitation. Finally, on one chilly evening, the man decided he couldn’t ignore it anymore. Inside his warm home, he laid down blankets and set out a bowl of food and water. The cat, trembling but desperate, devoured every bite.
