Lala loved her storybook more than anything. It wasn’t just paper and ink—it was a world of castles, talking animals, and magical adventures she visited every night before bed. She always carried it carefully, turning the pages with gentle fingers, as if the characters inside were her closest friends.
One sunny afternoon, Lala sat in the living room, happily flipping through her favorite tale. Bon, her playful little brother, came bouncing over. He was full of restless energy, always running, climbing, or grabbing whatever caught his eye. “What are you reading?” he asked, leaning too close.
“It’s my storybook,” Lala replied proudly. “I’m almost at the best part.”
But before she could stop him, Bon tugged at the book with his small, eager hands. He wanted to look too—but his pulling was rough. The pages stretched, then rip! A long tear split down the middle of the colorful picture.
Lala froze. Her eyes widened as she stared at the ruined page. Then the tears came. “Bon! You tore it!” she cried, clutching the book to her chest. “This was my favorite!”
Bon blinked, not fully understanding the weight of what he had done. “I didn’t mean to,” he whispered. But the damage was done.
Lala sat on the couch, both angry and heartbroken. She felt like her magical world had been broken in two. For her, it wasn’t just a book—it was her treasure.
Seeing her so upset, Bon’s little face fell. He shuffled closer, guilt heavy in his eyes. “I’m sorry, Lala,” he murmured, reaching out to hold her hand. “Can we fix it together?”
Though still upset, Lala saw the sincerity in his eyes. With a deep breath, she nodded. They found some tape, carefully patching the torn page piece by piece. It wasn’t perfect, but it was their effort together.
By the time they finished, Lala gave a small smile. “Next time, Bon, you have to be gentle,” she said. Bon nodded quickly, promising to be more careful.
The storybook had scars now, but in a way, it became even more special—because it carried not only the adventures inside but also a memory of forgiveness and love.
