After many days of waiting, little Cubis couldn’t hold back his emotions any longer. The tiny monkey had been missing his dad terribly, pacing by the door each morning and sitting quietly by the window every evening. Every time he heard footsteps or the sound of a familiar engine, his ears perked up and his heart leapt—only to be let down again when it wasn’t Dad.
Cubis tried to stay strong. He played a little, ate his favorite fruits, and cuddled with his blanket, but something just felt missing. He would often curl up with his stuffed animal and whisper soft little sounds, mimicking the way his dad used to talk to him. It was as if he was trying to keep his memory close.
Then, one sunny afternoon, it finally happened. A familiar scent drifted through the air. The sound of the front gate creaked open. Cubis’s head shot up. His eyes widened, and he froze for just a second. And then—he ran!
There, standing in the doorway, was Dad. Cubis let out a high-pitched cry, full of emotion, and launched himself into his father’s arms. He clung tightly, tears in his eyes, making soft chattering sounds as if telling Dad all about the days they’d been apart. His little body trembled with joy, confusion, and overwhelming relief.
Dad held him close, gently stroking his back and whispering, “I missed you too, buddy.” Cubis nuzzled into his chest and didn’t let go for a long while. He cried, called out, and touched Dad’s face over and over as if to make sure it was really him.
That moment—pure, raw, and heart-melting—reminded everyone watching just how deep the bond between a monkey and his human can be.
Cubis may be small, but his heart is huge. And the way he cried and called for Dad showed just how much love he holds inside. Reunited at last, nothing else mattered. The family was whole again.
