Monkey Lyly is confused because the noise from the neighbors keeps her from sleeping

Poor Monkey Lyly. It was supposed to be a quiet, peaceful night. She had brushed her teeth, snuggled into her soft little blanket, and was ready to drift into a dream filled with bananas, butterflies, and sunny trees. But just as her eyes started to close—BANG! CLANG! WOOF!—the neighbors began their nightly chaos.

Lyly sat up straight, wide-eyed and confused. What was that noise? A dog barking? Loud music? Something that sounded suspiciously like someone hammering a pot? She looked around her cozy room and tilted her head, listening. The strange sounds kept coming, and poor Lyly just didn’t understand why no one else seemed bothered.

She rubbed her eyes, yawned, and curled back under her blanket. Maybe if she just ignored it, she could fall asleep anyway. CRASH! No such luck. Lyly sat up again and looked toward the window as if she could somehow tell the neighbors, “Excuse me! I’m trying to sleep here!”

She got out of bed and tiptoed around the room, pacing in tiny monkey steps. She looked under the bed, behind the curtain, even under her pillow—maybe the noise was coming from inside her room? Nope. It was definitely outside.

Lyly eventually climbed onto her favorite stuffed giraffe and gave it a hug, her little face full of sleepy confusion. She didn’t understand why the world wasn’t asleep like she was supposed to be. Didn’t everyone know it was bedtime?

Finally, after what felt like forever, the noise started to die down. The dog stopped barking, the music faded, and the pots and pans took a break. Lyly yawned again, climbed back into bed, and this time, she didn’t get up. She snuggled deep into her blanket, her little monkey ears twitching at every sound, just in case.

As she slowly drifted off, she mumbled a tiny sigh, as if to say, “Next time, maybe the neighbors can party in the morning.”

Sleepy, confused, and absolutely adorable—Monkey Lyly’s bedtime struggle was real, and totally relatable.
