Monkey Lyly woke up restlessly early when she moved to her new home.

It was still dark when little Monkey Lyly opened her eyes. A soft breeze rustled the curtains, and the unfamiliar ceiling above her made her heart beat a little faster. This wasn’t the place she had grown up in. This was her new home—a fresh start, but one that came with confusion and restlessness.

Lyly tossed and turned on her cozy blanket, but no position felt quite right. The scent of the room was different. The sounds outside the window—chirping birds and the gentle rustle of trees—were not what she was used to. Where were the familiar footsteps of her family waking up? Where was the warm scent of morning tea and the hum of the old refrigerator she used to hear? Everything felt strange, even though she knew she was safe.

She sat up quietly, her big eyes scanning the room. Her favorite toy had been packed beside her, and she clutched it close, hoping it would bring comfort. Lyly padded softly toward the door, peeking out into the hallway. New photos on the wall, new corners to explore, but none of them held the warmth of memory—yet.

Her mother soon noticed her and gave her a gentle hug. That hug reminded Lyly that she wasn’t alone. Even though the house was new, her family had come with her, and that was what mattered most. Her mom showed her the kitchen, the backyard, and even a cozy window spot just for Lyly to sit and watch the world go by.

As the sun began to rise, Lyly slowly started to relax. She still felt a little unsure, but she also felt loved—and that gave her courage.

By the end of the day, Lyly had found a few favorite corners, met new neighbors, and even made friends with a bird outside the window. Moving was hard, but Lyly was beginning to see that this new place might just become home after all.
