Cubis Monkey Asked Aunt for 2 Dollars to Go to a Coffee Shop!

This morning, Cubis the monkey had a very specific mission: he wanted to go to the coffee shop like the grown-ups do. With his tiny hands behind his back and a determined look on his face, he approached his aunt with the sweetest voice he could muster. “Auntie,” he said softly, “Can I have two dollars? I want to go get a coffee… like you do!”

Aunt paused, holding back a laugh. “Cubis, what do you need coffee for?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Cubis blinked innocently. “Not for me,” he explained with dramatic seriousness. “Just a little banana smoothie. And maybe a cookie. But they sell it at the coffee place!”

He clutched his little pouch like a gentleman on an errand. Aunt giggled but played along. “Only if you promise to be careful and bring back change,” she said, placing two crumpled dollar bills in his tiny hand.

Excited beyond words, Cubis threw on his mini backpack and marched proudly out the door, with Aunt trailing behind just a few steps to supervise. At the coffee shop, he stepped up to the counter and stood on his tiptoes. “One banana smoothie, please!” he announced proudly. The barista was charmed, smiling as they prepared his drink extra carefully.

Cubis waited patiently, peeking over the counter, humming a little song. When he finally got his cup—with a straw and everything—he sat at a corner table, sipping slowly like a proper gentleman. He even shared a few sips with Aunt and offered her a piece of his cookie.

“Best two dollars I ever spent,” Aunt said, smiling.

Cubis beamed with pride. For him, it wasn’t just about the drink—it was about feeling grown up, doing something special on his own. That small adventure turned into a memory full of sweetness, laughter, and a tiny monkey’s dream come true.
