Today’s a big day for our sweet CiCi girl! It’s time for her follow-up visit to the vet to see how she’s doing with her heartworm treatment. The sun was shining, the car was gassed up, and CiCi hopped right in—tail wagging and full of curiosity as always. She loves car rides, especially when she gets to stick her nose out the window and sniff all the good smells the world has to offer.
As we pulled out of the driveway, we couldn’t help but feel a little anxious. We’ve been giving her the best care possible, following the vet’s treatment plan closely, and making sure CiCi gets lots of rest, love, and healthy food. But there’s always that little knot in your stomach on vet days. Still, CiCi made it easier by being her usual cheerful self—making us laugh with her head tilts and sneaky attempts to climb into the front seat.
When we got to the clinic, the staff welcomed her like the queen she is. She bravely went in for her tests, while we waited and hoped for good news. After some time, the vet came out with a gentle smile—CiCi is showing signs of improvement! While she’s not fully in the clear yet, the progress is real and we are so proud of her!
Now, you know we had to celebrate… and it is pizza crust Friday. So we made a quick detour on the way home and picked up a pie. CiCi got her traditional soft, chewy crust treat—her favorite little victory snack. She munched happily in the back seat as we rode home, her tail thumping with contentment.
We’re so grateful for this sweet girl and the strength she’s shown throughout her recovery. Keep rooting for CiCi—she’s fighting hard and we’re with her every step of the way, one vet visit (and pizza crust) at a time. 💗🐾🍕
