Today’s a big day—Chooch is heading back to the vet for his follow-up appointment, and we’d love for you to come along! After everything he’s been through, from stomach troubles to moments where we held our breath in worry, this check-up feels like a small victory in itself. So hop in the car with us—Chooch is already buckled in, looking out the window with those curious eyes and his favorite blanket tucked around him like a cape.
The drive is peaceful. Chooch is quiet, but alert. He knows where we’re going, and although he’s not thrilled, he doesn’t seem scared. Maybe he remembers the kind hands that helped him last time, or maybe he just trusts us that much.
We get to the vet’s office, and as soon as we step inside, he snuggles close to my chest. His name is called, and we head into the exam room. The vet greets him with a smile, and Chooch gives a tiny tail wag—as if to say, I remember you.
He’s weighed, his belly gently checked, eyes examined. The vet is impressed—Chooch has gained a little weight, his hydration is better, and most importantly, he’s holding his food down. That might not sound like much to some people, but to us, it means everything.
The vet says we’re on the right path. We talk about adjusting his diet, keeping up with his medication, and signs to watch for. Chooch stays calm the whole time—his brave little soul shining through.
Back in the car, we give him a few soft treats and shower him with praise. He handled it like a champ.
We know we’re not totally out of the woods yet, but today brought a wave of hope. Chooch is stronger, brighter, and still full of that gentle spirit we adore.
