Don’t Blink, Guys. Those Years Fly By. If Your Dog Is Over 5 Years Old and You Can Afford It, Start Doing a Yearly Ultrasound on Your Pup! RIP Chooch ❤️

Don’t blink, because it goes by faster than you think. One day, you’re bringing your puppy home for the first time, and the next, you’re wondering how the years flew past so quickly. That’s what happened with Chooch. He was the happiest, most loving dog you could imagine—playful, smart, loyal to a fault. It felt like we had all the time in the world together. But time doesn’t wait, and sometimes, neither does illness.

Chooch was just a little over 7 when we noticed small changes. He seemed more tired after walks. He didn’t jump up to greet us quite as quickly. At first, we thought it was just age catching up with him, but it was more than that. By the time we discovered the truth, it was too late—internal issues had been silently progressing. He never showed signs of pain. Dogs are like that—strong and silent, even when they’re hurting.

If I could go back, I would’ve done things differently. That’s why I’m sharing this. If your pup is over 5 and you’re able to afford it, please consider doing a yearly ultrasound. It’s not just for when something seems wrong—it’s about catching the things that don’t show until it’s too late. It might seem like overkill, but if it buys you even one more year with your best friend, isn’t it worth it?

Chooch gave us the best years of his life. He made every day better. We miss him more than words can say, but we know he’s at peace now. And if even one person reads this and gets to spend more time with their pup because of it, then his story will keep making a difference.

We love you forever, Chooch. 💔🐾
