Little Lala was enjoying a peaceful afternoon, playing with her toys and munching on fruit, when she noticed something unusual. Mom Lan Anh sat quietly nearby, her face calm—but there was something different. As Lala toddled closer, her curious eyes landed on a large bandage wrapped around Mom’s leg. A bit of red had soaked through the fabric, and Lala froze. Her little heart immediately filled with concern.
She gently reached out, touching Mom’s leg with her tiny hand. “Ma?” she asked softly, her voice full of worry. Lan Anh smiled, trying to reassure her baby, but Lala wasn’t convinced. She pointed to the wound and frowned deeply, a look far too serious for someone so small. It was clear—Lala knew something was wrong.
Not one to sit idly by, Lala ran to fetch a toy medical kit she had seen in the corner. Returning quickly, she opened the kit and pulled out a tiny plastic stethoscope and pretend bandages. With utmost care, she knelt beside Mom and began her “treatment,” pressing the toy tools on Mom’s leg and whispering comforting words only a child could think of.
Mom couldn’t help but laugh gently, even through the pain. “Lala, you’re the best doctor I’ve ever had,” she said, tears of joy mixing with the sting of her injury.
Lala leaned her head on Mom’s arm and refused to leave her side for the rest of the day. She offered her favorite snacks, gave extra kisses, and even sang her little songs to keep Mom’s spirits up. Though she couldn’t understand how the wound happened, she knew one thing for sure—she wanted to help Mom feel better.
That night, as Mom tucked Lala into bed, it wasn’t Mom reassuring the little one—it was Lala whispering, “I take care of you, Ma.” And she meant it with all her heart.
