Today was a special day for little monkey Bibi—it was his very first time helping Dad in the garden! The mission? Harvesting Thai eggplants, which were finally ripe and ready after weeks of careful watering and sunlight. As the sun peeked over the trees, Bibi followed Dad out to the farm, eyes wide with curiosity and excitement.
Dad handed Bibi a tiny basket and pointed to the rows of leafy green plants. At first, Bibi just watched carefully as Dad showed him how to gently twist the round green-and-white eggplants from the stem. The plants were full, and the job was not easy. But Bibi was determined to help, just like a big kid!
With tiny hands and lots of focus, Bibi gave it a try. He carefully grabbed a little eggplant, gave it a gentle twist—plop!—it came right off. His face lit up with joy, and he clapped proudly, showing Dad his first harvest. “Good job, Bibi!” Dad cheered, ruffling his fur lovingly.
As they worked together, Bibi got more confident. Sometimes he tried to carry too many at once and dropped them with a thud, then scrambled to pick them up, giggling all the while. A few times, he even tried to sneak a taste, curious about the funny-looking vegetables. Dad chuckled and gently guided him back to the basket.
By the end of the morning, Bibi had picked almost a whole basket full! His face was a bit dirty, and his fur had some leaves stuck in it, but he was glowing with pride. Helping Dad made him feel important, and he loved being part of something that would help feed the family.
After washing up, Dad let Bibi pick one eggplant to bring inside for lunch. They cooked a warm stir-fry together, and Bibi couldn’t stop smiling as he munched on the fruits of his hard work. It was a small adventure, but for Bibi, it was a big step. He can’t wait to help again!
